The Yamaha CT9000 Concert Tom Series is an instrument that is rich in tone and abundant in sustain giving the performer a wide range of expression. Oak Shells and the Yamaha YES III mount contribute to this range of sound. 6 ply oak Shells have a fat dense tone with open resonance. The Air Seal System used in the manufacturing is a technique to insure the shells maintain their shape and sound for many years. The YES III mounts only serve to maximize the resonance of the oak shells. This is achieved by designing a mount that gives the tom as close to a “hanging in the air” type suspension as possible.
