Description

This ligature has been designed to improve the tone, response, and intonation of woodwind instruments by permitting the reed to vibrate more freely than it can with conventional metal, plastic, or fabric ligatures. It also allows the reed to swell and shrink without distorting the reed body, and, reduces the likelihood of distortion. This ligature will give a free vibration to the reed so that you will have a more even scale, better intonation, and help eliminate sqeakes and raspiness. If properly used, it will be found to provide for a greater playing ease, considerably extend reed life, and fewer rejected reeds. The material used is of the highest quality. The ligature is made of polypropylene, will not break, and has the necessary stretch to permit removing and replacing without the need for tension screw adjustment.

Reeds which perform well with metal ligatures will perform even better with the patented Robert Vinson “Equa-Tone” ligature. With experimentation of different reeds and adjustments, an even greater, richer tonal quality can be achieved. To yield maximum benefit from this ligature in extending reed life, the reed should be thoroughly moistened and smoothed before playing.
