Brian Johnston is the current Principal Trombone with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. He has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, to name a few. He has been a regular member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 2019-2021 & a substitute musician in the New World Symphony in Miami, FL. Brian’s teaching experience includes the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra & The Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Symphony. He has many succesful students as Principal & Bass Trombone in The Chicago & Fort Wayne Youth Symphony Orchestras, as well as placing in various band programs across the midwest. Brian has an undergraduate degree in trombone performance from The Hartt School of Music & a Master degree from Chicago’s College of Performing arts. His primary mentors are: Jay Friedman, John Rojak, Andy Malloy, & Reed Capshaw.
