Private Teachers

Private music (instrumental) teachers are crucial to your student’s musical success. All private teachers have earned at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Music or have performed professionally over a significant number of years. They are able to focus on the individual performer, their embouchure, stick position, breath control and many other aspects that a band or orchestra director cannot do simply because they do not have the time. The band director’s job is to create a musical work of art with 50-90 individual musicians.

The private teacher’s sole focus is the improvement of the individual musician. They challenge students with music that may be beyond their reach but not their grasp and inspire students to reach higher than they thought they could. Basically they make students feel good about themselves. But they also hold each student accountable for the goals that are assigned them. Most teachers will work with school band music so that the student will perform well in any concert situation thereby raising his/her grade in Band Class as well.
