Private Teacher: Evan Cooper

If your student is looking to become a better trombone or euphonium player, trying to get a Gold medal at ISSMA competitions, or win a performance scholarship to help with college tuition while having a great time learning about music performance, music technology, and music theory through the mediums of performing classical or jazz, then I want to help. I keep lessons fun and exciting for beginner through advanced students.

I am in my third year of teaching at Creekside Middle School in Carmel. I was the Director of Bands at Brown County (Indiana) for two years after receiving my bachelor’s degree in music education from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University located in Bloomington, Indiana. While at I.U., I had the pleasure of learning from Pete Ellefson, Dr. Jeffery Gershman, Dr. Paul Popiel, Dr. Lissa May, and many other renowned conductors and music educators.

In addition to teaching middle school band and orchestra, I have been involved with high school marching band, as well as Drum Corp International. I am currently on staff with Plainfield High School, Westfield High School, and the Carmel High School Marching Greyhounds, where I graduated in 2006. I was a member of the World Champion Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007 and 2008. Feel free to email or call me with any questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
