Private Teacher: Danny Weiss

Danny Weiss has been a private studio instructor for twenty-five years. He offers flute lessons, clarinet lessons, saxophone lessons, and jazz improvisation lessons in a patient, nurturing environment. His studio is open to students of all ages. Weiss is also on the faculty of Purdue University as a lecturer of Music Theory and Jazz History in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. He is the Instructor of Saxophone in the Department of Bands. Weiss holds a Master of Music degree from Indiana University-Bloomington.

Performance

Weiss is an active performer and band leader in Northern Indiana. His calendarlists his upcoming performances. Currently living in West Lafayette, Indiana, Weiss spent many years in New York and Chicago. He has performed with the avant-rock band DaDaDah, the brass jazz band NoNoNonet, Latin jazz bands, the klezmer band Yid Vicious, Broadway show bands, and with New York dance choreographers. Weiss has also performed with such jazz celebrities as Rashied Ali, Tom Varner, Joe Williams, Chris Washburne, Michael Sarin, Lynn Arriel, Clyde Stubblefield, and Don Braden at venues including the Jazz Showcase, Birdland, CBGBs, the West End Gate, PS 122, Jay's, the Knitting Factory, and the Bitter End.
