Part-time Percussion Specialist / Repair Technician

LOCATION: Indianapolis, Indiana

DIVISION: Chops Percussion and Paige’s Music
SALARY: Commensurate with Experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Chops Percussion is Indiana’s leading educational percussion retailer. Chops Percussion and Paige’s Music provides products, information, service and support to School Music Band and Orchestra programs across Indiana. We are seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time position in Sales and Repair of percussion product. Must be available to work Saturdays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Sales and rental of percussion products
•  Repair of school percussion instruments (mostly concert and marching)
•  Provide customer service to internal/external customers regarding percussion product and repairs.
•  Follow established protocols for sales and repair processes.
•  Accurately complete all paperwork including repair tickets/logs/invoices.
•  Develop and maintain a high level of percussion product knowledge.
•  Assist with staffing events including but not limited to DCI, PASIC, WGI and IPA.
•  Curate data for web applicatons.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Bachelor’s/ Associate Degree Recommended: Music, Music Business, Music Education, Technical College
•  Experience teaching in the percussion field is a plus
•  Experience and familiarity with concert and marching percussion
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•  Mechanical knowledge and ability required.
•  Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel)
•  Ability to successfully organize and manage responsibilities concurrently.
•  Professional demeanor.
•  Must be reliable and trustworthy.
