Jay County High School is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and inspiring Percussion Instructor to lead, teach, and mentor our percussion students.
Location: Jay County High School
Position: Percussion Instructor
Reports To: Director of Bands & Principal
Schedule: Winter (Indoor) and Summer (Marching) seasons
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Pedagogy: Teach fundamental (rudimental) and advanced percussion techniques. Establish clear goals and objectives for each rehearsal to ensure active engagement, discipline, and continuous musical progress.
- Collaboration & Professionalism: Regularly coordinate with the Director of Bands to review curriculum, rehearsal plans, student progress, and program direction. Represent Jay County High School with professionalism, upholding community values regarding conduct, appropriate language, and attire.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong background in rudimental and advanced percussion instruction and performance. Equal emphasis on battery and front ensemble is preferred; however, we will consider all candidates.
- Experience preferred in competitive marching band, drumline, or indoor percussion circuits (IPA or equivalent).
