Job Location: Indiana

Details:

Montgomery County United (MCU) is looking for a passionate, knowledgeable, and motivated Indoor Percussion Director to lead and develop our indoor percussion program!

We are looking for a candidate excited to work with young percussionists and build a program from the ground up. This is an opportunity for the right person to make the program their own and develop an indoor percussion experience that reflects their vision.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience teaching and/or directing indoor percussion
  • Experience with the Indiana Percussion Association (IPA) circuit preferred
  • Strong percussion background and a passion for music education
  • Experience working with young and developing percussionists
  • Ability to independently organize, rehearse, and manage an indoor percussion program
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Someone who values teamwork, musicianship, accountability, and student growth

The Opportunity:

The Indoor Percussion Director will have substantial creative freedom to shape the direction of the program. You’ll decide what best serves our students and program, whether that means:

  • A Marching Percussion approach
  • A Concert Percussion approach
  • Or a blend of both

We’re looking for someone who brings their own vision, creativity, and expertise to MCU, helping build a program students are genuinely excited to be part of.

About MCU

Montgomery County United is a collaborative music program serving students from North Montgomery and Southmont High Schools. Our goal is to provide students with high-quality performance opportunities while developing musicianship, leadership, teamwork, and pride in the performing arts. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who doesn’t just want to teach a percussion ensemble, but wants to build a program and leave their mark on it.

Interested?

Please reach out to Elizabeth Newnum elizabeth.newnum@southmont.k12.in.us with a brief introduction, your percussion/teaching experience, and any relevant experience with indoor percussion or the IPA circuit.

Come build something with us!
